The beginning leathercraft class is a class with step by step leatherwork instruction on the use of leather tools, transferring carving patterns, carving leather designs, stamping on leather, Coloring (Dyeing/staining and finishing) Leather technique, and setting hardware for leather projects etc. Beginning Leathercraft Classes are designed for those who have not in the past carved or tooled leather. Students in the beginning leatherwork class do not create finished projects, they use remnant leather to learn the techniques during the course. They can and some do chose to work on leathercraft projects outside of class depending on their skill level but the class itself is geared toward getting the students proficient at the process and techniques of carving, tooling and stamping leather.

During the April meeting of The Leathercraft Guild at @standingbears following the business meeting, show and tell, and raffles, we will be showing a Part Two of a video series Trout by Robb Barr We hope many of you are able to attend April 16th, 2023, 1PM-4PM 7624 Tampa Avenue, Reseda, CA. 91335 Park Around Back and come in the back door for the meeting. Billy Stockil, aka Billy 2-Shews, known for his embossing and image transfer techniques that were shared as a DVD in 2004 passed away unexpectedly on September 6th 2022. Bill was a gifted artist, who through his DVD tried to guide those interested in the technique to create work as magnificent as his. His daughter Kristy said "Our one big wish is that the Legend that he was in the Leatherwork world will live on - his name remembered - his techniques honoured to him" @standingbears has taught his technique and shared his legacy for close to 20 years and will continue to share the process and who 2-Shews was as long as people still want to learn it. Rest In Peace Billy, Thank you for your gift of knowledge. December 6th 1947 ~ September 6th 2022
